OCC KIDS SUMMER SWELL 2023

 
 

Summer Swell is a 3-day summer camp at OCC for current K-5th graders. It is jam-packed with fun: beach games, surf stations, good food, and more! This summer we're exploring the endlessness of love, grace, and life found in Jesus. There's nothing more exciting to us than having the opportunity to use the ocean right outside our doors to lead kids to the unending ocean of grace we experience in Jesus!

Important Info:

  • Check-In: All children must be checked in daily by a parent or guardian. Ocean City Church's foyer doors will open at 8:45 am to ensure that all children who enter are properly checked in and supervised by OCC Staff + Anchors.

  • Wear: Bathing suit under clothes, slip-on shoes, sunscreen

  • Bring: Towel and dry clothes to change into (in a bag clearly labeled with your child’s first and last name)

  • Lunch: Lunch will be provided each day. Email Shelley Whitmire at shelley@occjax.com with any questions or concerns about possible menu items. 

  • Pick-Up: All children must be picked up daily by a parent or guardian. Ocean City Church's foyer doors will open at 1:00 pm to ensure that all children who exit are properly checked out by OCC Staff + Anchors.

Required Forms:

  • Each child will need their parent or guardian to sign the activity waiver and hold harmless agreement to attend Summer Swell. These forms were linked to the confirmation email you receive after you register.

Water Safety + Beach Info:

Each team will spend 1 hour each day on the beach. With that in mind:

  • Please know that children will be in the water with leaders. We have a 1:1 leader to child ratio while in the water. If needed, leaders will help children paddle out and stand up/ride back on foam surf boards. We will also have a Jacksonville Beach Ocean Rescue Lifeguard on-site. If you fear your child will be unsafe in this scenario for any reason, please contact Shelley Whitmire at shelley@occjax.com so that we can work on a solution together.

  • OCC will provide drinking water and surfboards for all children on the beach. Your child does not need their own.

  • If it is stormy, we will remain indoors for some big-fun team games!

Team Fun:

We encourage all kids to represent their team by wearing their team color to Summer Swell! With your packet, your child will receive a Summer Swell t-shirt in their team color.
